“Milenge Milenge” is a romantic comedy starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in their fifth film together. The movie tells a love story between Amit, played by Shahid and Priya, played by Kareena. The movie was directed by Satish Kaushik and co-stars Satish Shah, Aarti Chhabria and Delnaaz Paul. The film takes inspiration from the 2001 American film “Serendipity.”
The love story begins with Kareena’s character Priya who is on a quest to find her true love in life and live happily ever after. She seeks advice from a tarot card reader who tells Priya where to find her soul mate and what he will be wearing when she sees him for the first time. She flies off to attend a youth festival in Bangkok in search of her prince charming. Low and behold Priya meets Amit wearing exactly what the tarot card reader predicted! Instantly, the two lock eyes and discover love at first sight.
However, as the festival comes to an end, so does their love story. Amit tries to convince Priya that they are destined to be together and Priya retorts that if it is indeed destiny, the two will find each other again. Years pass and the two go on with their lives and are soon both engaged to be married to other people. The problem is, they are both unhappy. “Milenge Milenge” tells the story of both characters’ futures and asks if they are indeed destined to be together.
Making the film was not an easy process. “Milenge Milenge” started shooting in 2004 but has been delayed several times, so expect a much younger looking Kareena and Shahid on the silver screen as six years have passed since they first started shooting! The movie is finally set to release on July 9, 2010 and it is sure to attract fans with its good humor and entertaining music composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
