Aakrosh, previously titled Garam Hawa, is an action thriller produced by Kumar Mangat and directed by Priyadarshan.

Ajay Devgan plays Pratap Kumar, a dalit CBI officer who sets out to investigate the disappearance of three students from Delhi University. He understands the mentalities in the small village Jhanjhar in Bihar where the three students mysteriously disappear. Akshaye Khanna portrays Siddhant Chaturvedi, Pratap’s colleague who takes on a whole different approach to the investigation.

Bipasha Basu plays Geeta, a girl from a rich family who is unhappy in her marriage but who will become one of the key players in the investigation. Roshni, played by Amita Pathak is another woman who holds a central role in the investigation. Paresh Rawal portrays Ajatshatru Singh, a corrupt police officer who abuses his power and doesn’t hide his hatred for the lower caste. The movie also stars Urvashi Sharma, Reema Sen, Vineet Sharma and Sameera Reddy who will show up doing an item number.

Aakrosh tells the story of three students from Delhi University who disappear in Jhanjhar, Bihar after visiting the small village to watch the Hindu festival Ramlila. CBI officers Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratap Kumar are asked by the government to investigate the disappearance of the boys. It turns out to be hard for the two special envoys to get anything done in the small village where people are afraid to talk and where police corruption is part of everyday life.

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s and Pratap Kumar’s work even provokes violent riots and it’s only when Pratap gets closer to Geeta that the investigation takes a turn for the better. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratap Kumar end up solving the case of the missing boys, despite initial difficulties and various problems posed by fearful peasants.
