A Path breaking technical trendsetter by Chiru-Yandamoori-K.S.R-A.K.R-Ilayaraja team from Creative Commercials based on Yandamoori’s
novel of the same name. The uniqueness of this movie is that the lead character(chiru) does not have a name at all. Only Radha calls him Purushaa, others dont give him any name.
Also this is the debut vehicle of Nagababu. Annapurna gives her justborn son (chiru) to the care of a foster home run by allu who sells him to a beggar for money and later the child ends up on the secret island of Vankachekka Ramamurthy a.k.a V.R (kannada prabhakar).
He has a friend simham(nagababu) and an old man. V.R does all the illegal activities in the island and his wife has an eye on chiru.
In a quest to reach his mother, Chiru tries to escape from the island with the help of simham and the oldman in the process which oldman dies and both of them manage to escape from the island.
RaoGopalRao is a crusader of peace against V.R with sumalata as his assistant and he seeks the help of chiru in exchange of helping him find his mother.
Sailu(Radha) is the adamant daughter of VR rebelling against him who loves chiru. once in a shoot out chiru lands in the home run by suhasini who is also seeking revenge on VR for killing her parents and her brother (Rajendra Prasad) who was an SI trying to bring VR to justice.
Chiru and Suhasini fall in love and he tries to use radha against her father.
In the end RaoGopalRao is killed and he reveals the identity of his mother at the verge of death in chiru’s hands that she is a captive of VR.

In the process, Simham, and Radha get killed. Chiru is united to his mother atlast. Gripping screenplay, luscious and rich visuals , and everlasting melody and fast music by Ilayaraja build this movie into one of the greatest movies from CC and Chiru.
This is the first movie in Indian film history where chiru introduced break dance in one song with a short but cute step.
