The Synopsis
Krishnama Chari (Prathap Pothan) lives in USA and he is damn cut up with his only son Balu (Varun Sandesh) because the latter discontinued his college education and comes home. Chari’s neighbor America Durga (Urvasi), who is originally from a village in Andhra Pradesh, is always picking up quarrels with Chari.
Balu, at first sight, falls in love with Swapna, daughter of Durga. They fall deeply in love and both believe they are made for each other. Both their parents disagree on a marriage alliance between Balu and Swapna. With the intervention of Paul Sastry (Naresh) who is a police officer-cum part-time poojari gets the warring families to an agreement. Balu and Swapna will have to live separately fro one year and there should not be any communication of any sort between them. They will be married if they are still in love after one year and that without contact of any sort.
So, Balu goes away to New York and starts working in a software company owned by Sandhya (Shraddha Das). Meanwhile, Maddy (Adarsh Balakrishna) comes into the life of Swapna and he is actually her cousin.
Now what sort of relationship develops between Balu and Sandhya? What did Maddy do as spoilsport between Swapna and Balu? After the stipulated one year, will Balu and Swapna meet? Or will this Maro Charitra will end in tragedy like as in the original Kamal’s film? These questions answer the rest of the story.

Prathap Pothan and Urvashi come out with mature thespian theatrics and live their roles. Naresh and Kota do credible roles. All others are quite adequate.
The Techniques
Maro Charitra Movie Review
Ravi Yadav is a cinematographer of excellent credentials and that seemed to have interfered with his first time direction. Vibrant visuals and fabulous frames, if not cut short or trimmed in editing, severely affects the narration speed. Every camera-man instantly falls in love with his output, but as director you should allow the editor do his duty. That is the only flaw of this film. There are yawning slumps in the screenplay. The dialogues also could have been appropriate and apt to the situation.
The costumers, choreographers and art people have done some notable work. Music by Mickey J Meyer is good. The re-tuning of the songs from the original film : ‘Ye Theega Poovuno Ye Komma Chetino’ and ‘Bhale Bhale Mogadivoi Bangaru Naa Saamivoi’ are truly pleasing. The sound design is good. Production values are high.
The Verdict
Maro Charitra Movie Review
Maro Charitra can be seen once; The film may not get repeat audience particularly in view of the heavy competition it will get from other new film releases. Though the presentation is good and the film is technically very good, poor screenplay has hampered the narration to continuously get the attention of the viewers throughout the duration of the film. The climax is another set-back.
