Kothi Mooka has an uninspiring story, lame sketches of characters meander and beg for attention, basically it's a film on a beggar who fights an election. Even while he begs for votes, his habit and attitude, the style of begging doesn't leave him. By the end of the film, you are disgusted with the constant cacophony of gags made by the beggar and co. and would want to beg AVS not to make a film again. Shraddha Arya is a lecturer in a college and her student Krishnudu is in love with her. She refuses to marry him because her father is a beggar. Krishnudu's father Jayaprakash Reddy an MLA learns about their love and trashes AVS but that only makes Krishnudu stubborn. He prods AVS to fight against his dad in the upcoming election and what follows next is anyone's guess.

The film begins on a loud note, loud it has to be when there is Kovai Sarala and Jayaprakash Reddy. The characters are poorly constructed, Hema gives an impression of a second wife and not Kovai Sarala's sister-in-law. Krishnudu has hardly anything to do, he is confined to being a character artiste. Though it's him in the first half of the film, it's completely the director cum actor who has cleverly pulled the story towards him, making himself the silent hero.

The reason for AVS turning a beggar is not convincing and his daughter dressed like a high society girl living in slums with her father for emotional reason sounds absurd. The TV anchor repeatedly calling the beggar 'mustivaadu' is sickening and AVS reels of a long list of percentage of people and demographics living in his area to show of his skill, that hardly surprises or amuses you. AVS proves once again he has a flair for generating duds. Camera work is shabby, technical and production values are dull. Shraddha Arya looks sweet, presentable and AVS though has dished out a farce has chipped in convincing work as an actor on his part. Krishnudu, poor guy, he's been made a scapegoat, is termed a hero here but draws a nil!
