'Ninne Istapaddanu' is directed by debutant director Konda and produced under Durga Arts banner. Durga Arts last release was Santhosham with Nagarjuna which was a hit.
Coming to story, Charan (Tarun) is an easygoing boy who meets Sanjana (Anitha) while going to college in train. Charan dupes Sanjana, saying that he has a twin brother called Varun, who looks like him. Sanjana attracts towards Varun, who is dumb [In fact, Charan himself acts as a dumb boy]. However, she realises the truth and Charan seeks excuses and tells Sanjana that he loved her. When Sanjana comes to know about Charan's plans... instead of hating him, she accepts his love. After finishing college Sanjana goes back to her city and never gives Charan any message about her whereabouts. With the support of parents, Charan goes to the city in search of her and meets her after a vigorous search. That's when the shock comes...Sanjana, tells Charan that she is not and never was in love with Charan and was just acting as she was taking revenge on him after knowing that he was just boasting off to be a gentleman to make her fall for his love. She even insults him saying that he is not fit for her and her family as she comes from a millionaire's family whereas Charan's father is an Asst. Station Master. She also informs that her marriage has been fixed and gives him her wedding card.
After seeing the photo of the groom in Sanjana's wedding card Charan recognizes him as a person Bonny (Rajeev Kanakala) whom he met during his journey to the city. Charan approaches Bonny and pretending as his friend goes to Sanjana's house with him. Charan starts advising Bonny on how to dress up and behave during the pre-marriage customs and formalities. Of course, he advises him to do it all wrong way leaving a bad impression with Sanjana's parents. In the process Sanjana's parents develop a good impression about Charan. In the climax Sanjana's father (Sarathbabu) who is not interested in marrying off his daughter to Bonny, being totally impressed by Charan's behavior, asks Sanjana whether she is interested in marrying Charan. Sanjana Accepts the proposal but then, its Charan's turn to remind her of the insult that she did when he approached her with his love. He reveals the truth to all that Bonny is a nice and innocent man and he has just used him as a tool to take revenge on Sanjana. Wait...its not over yet. He tells Sanjana that he has fallen in love with another girl Geethanjali (Sridevi) who works for All India Radio and with whom he is living since he came to the city. So...finally Bonny-Sanjana and Charan-Geethanjali are united leading to a happy ending.
Tarun is at his best in this film and he slips into the character quite well. Sridevi proved a good pair to him. Anitha also played well. There is good response for Neha Dhupia song and Lawrence song in the film. Comedy is good. Music by RP Patnaik is good.
