The story is about 2 people from small town who want to become big. They are Bunty & Babli (Abhishek Bachchan & Rani Mukherjee). They run away from their home in the hope of becoming big & rich and accidentally meet & get to know each other. Later they try to execute their dreams in a legal way but fail. So they adopt a new method of fooling people and earning money. They are very happy with it. They also marry each other. They start from small things & go on to make the richest people look like fools. DCP Dashrat (Amitabh Bachchan) tries to stop & arrest Bunty & Babli and many of his attemptss fail. In the mean time, Babli becomes pregnant & gives birth to a boy. Now Dashrat doesn't miss them and catches during RBI gold robbery. But seeing the future of the child & a better scope for reform in Bunty & Babli, Dashrat frees them on a promise that they live life in a better way.
